Ini pertama kalinya saya menulis dalam Bahasa Indonesia di ArtPlus :P. Hari ini adalah hari terakhir dalam penanggalan Bulan Tiongkok tahun 2558. Besok tanggal 7 Januari 2008, kita akan memasuki tahun 2559 dalam penanggalan Bulan. Di Indonesia, pergantian tahun baru ini disebut Tahun Baru Imlek. Kata Imlek ini setahu saya hanya dipakai di Indonesia saja. Kalau diluar sana, biasanya mereka selalu memakai kata Xin Nian dan Kuo Nian (Mandarin) atau Xin Ni dan Kuei Ni (Hokkien). Selain itu, perayaan ini disebut Chunjie (Mandarin) yang artinya Perayaan memasuki Musim Semi. Anyway, karena penasaran dengan kata Imlek, saya melakukan sedikit research asal-usul kata ini.
Kata “Imlek” berasal dari kata “Yin Li” yang dalam Bahasa Mandarin berarti Penanggalan Bulan (Yin=bulan, Li=tanggal/penanggalan). Perhitungan dari penanggalan bulan ini sudah ada ribuan tahun yang lalu, jauh sebelum penanggalan Masehi yang kita pakai sekarang ada. (more…)
For me, music is one of the most important thing in my life, beside my family of course :). Once in a while, you’ll find a song that really touch your heart. I just found one that does it and would love to share it here. I’m one of the fans of this musician. He is just very talented in playing music instruments and song composing. Some of the songs he sang really give me a good feeling.
I just got back from Medan for a Cheng Beng (Ching Ming) ceremony. The annual ceremony when Chinese prays for their ancestors. These days, lots of Chinese have happened to forget this cultural ceremony. Many of them have think that it should only done by certain religion, which is Buddhist. It is totally wrong! Why? Because it is a culture. Everybody in this world have their own culture based on which races they are. That’s why, all Chinese should still remember and do it, despite of any religions they’re in. It is the same like why all Chinese should celebrate Chinese New Year every year. It is funny when you want to celebrate CNY but forget the rest of the cultural ceremonies.
I don’t know what is happening to this ‘Capital City of Indonesia’. It is the biggest, the most prosperous, the most populated, the most etc etc etc city in Indonesia, but it is also the most polluted, city with the worse environment, and the last thing I want to mention is, it is the Capital City with Huge Flood happening every 5 years. The previous huge flood was happening in 2002, and before that was in 1996. I wasn’t living in Jakarta during the 90’s so I wasn’t sure about it. But I assumed it should be true while it has been told by some guys I met these couple of days.
