New stuff from Google has always been interesting to read, or test if it is a software. Google Chrome is an open source browser, as rumored under the name of “Google Browser”. And having more competition in browser area won’t hurt anyway. Competition is good in certain levels. It is one of the way for us to enjoy better experience. For web designers, that means one more browser to check for each web project.

First look after installing it:
- Start up is fast. Much faster compared to other browsers. It could probably because Google Chrome hasn’t had any add-on/plugin yet. Need to test it up after some times though.
- Loading up a website is very fast, even compared to Safari that claimed 3 times faster than Firefox.
- Minimalistic UI with less menu buttons.
- Unlike the others, browser tabs are placed on the top instead of below of address bar
- It has a quick launch thumbnails first time open it, similar features like in Opera
- CSS rendering is good (Remind me of IE again! When will IE render CSS properly??? I know… I know… it happens in my dreams only)
- It has “Incognito Window” a privacy mode for browsing the internet without leaving anything logged in your computer.
- For secured browsing, Google Chrome will give you a warning when you’re about to visit a suspected phising, malware or other unsafe websites.
For complete features, do watch this video. Not a very good quality one, but enough to show what’s in that.
