How Many Changes in Design Can You Take? This should be a very common questions every designers faced. A designer started to work on a project for a client and some of them require revisions that last forever. it never ends until a couple of months or sometimes years.

Can you imagine doing a simple web design works which is being revised for 40 times? And the work is completed after almost one year? I bet some of you do have this problem.

Some of you might have lose your mind and want to scream the hell out but couldn’t able to do it because your neighbor might knock your door and scream back at you or call the police if you do so. So what exactly the best way you should do?

This problem has definitely have lots of negative impacts. I could sum up some of them here based on my experiences:

  • Confusion in the design directions
  • Too much time and energy spent in just one work
  • Feel boring about the projects which led to worse result
  • When will I get paid?

Handvertising: Advertisers Looking at Your Skin in a New Way

Monday, October 15th, 2007

I’ve just received an email from Mike Brown of Handvertising USA to feature their article in my blog. However, I found this is an interesting new way of advertising. They put a stamp of brand or logo in their skin or hand and I think it surely will attract surrounding people or friends. This type of advertisement may work pretty well in pubs, night clubs and discos.

Photoshop Family Got A New Logo

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2007

Photoshop Family New LogoWell, it is just 10 months since the latest Adobe Products’ rebranding which came out with the periodic table logos. Not really sure why they bring out another new logo. However, I’m thinking it will be a confusion on their consistency in branding, though it’s only for the Photoshop Family products, such as: Photoshop CS3, Photoshop CS3 Extended, Photoshop Lightroom, Photoshop Elements, Photoshop Album Starter Edition, and coming soon Photoshop Express.

I guess it is designed based on the Web 2.0 style. The logo shows a “P” (beside many other thoughts on its shape, like the iChat of Apple or a speech bubble), but it just look a bit out of their branding before. (more…)

How Would Your Front Office Staff Be?

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

How Would Your Front Office Staff BeOne of the personnel who has important role in business is the front office staff. Front office staff is the first person your customers, prospects or visitors will see and talk to. It includes Receptionist or clerk, Customer Service and Phone Operator. Why would I say it is important? Because it is the first person who meet customers, prospects, buyers ot even guests.

Let’s say there’s a prospects who call your company asking for a product he might want to buy. The purpose of this call is generally asking about product information, specifications and price. What would it be if your front officer don’t know how to answer their questions, not really sure about the specifications? I can guarantee that the prospects will definitely not going to buy your products.

Here is another example, one of your customers have a problem with the product (let’s say mobile phone) they purchased a while ago. The mobile phone has totally die after 1 week of purchase and he needs an assistance on the problem. So he called the customer service and tell her about it. What if your customer service answer something like this, “uh oh, I’m not really sure about it, I’ll get you to someone else”. Then she passed it to another girl which also answer almost exactly the same. Then she passed your phone (which is being hold for 5 minutes) to “technical support”. And after that, the technical guy would just recommend you to come to their support centre. What do you think about it. In the end your customer might get a solution to his problem, but I’m sure he has had a bad image on your customer service already. (more…)
