What Kind Of Website Do You Need?We have received responds from some prospectus clients asking about this question. They’re confused of what kind of website they want us to develop for them. All they know is they want their company to exist on the internet so their customers can view it online.

For a start, the web has grown to be a great environment for your business. There’re certain kinds of web development which one of them will certainly suit your needs. It might only be a very simple webpages or it could be a very complex website. All depends on your business needs. Here are the descriptions of each type. Have a read and you’ll get a brief idea on them.

1. Personal Website
This is the simplest web design you might find over the internet. Usually it will just be filled with someone’s information or could be a blog.

2. Company Profile
Some companies will just want to build their online presence on the internet. The reason is they want people to know what the company is all about, what products/services they sell and what is their contact details. It will be just a content based website built with html and css coding.

3. Blog
Blog is simply can be a personal website or a company marketing tools. For personal needs, it can be your online diary and for companies, it can be another website or microsite to expose what the company is all about.

4. Content Management System (CMS Website)
If your company has a lot of products to display, or in other words, it happens to be a catalog where everybody can view it online and the list of items will be updated frequently, then you’ll need this type of website. A CMS website allows the owner or web admin to add product items, add contents or even add pages very easily. No HTML skill is required to update this. You just need a browser and an internet connection, no more.

5. E-Commerce Website
When you’re thinking of selling your products/services online, you can consider this type of website. The back end will be built to adapt selling and buying processes with shopping cart and lots of interactivity allowing people to shop in it. You’ll have product listings, price and ‘add to cart’ buttons.

So, what kind of website should you get?

Based on the above, you can sum up this way.
If all you need is a simple information presence, you should go to point 1 or 2.
If what you need is something you need to update frequently, you can consider point 3 or 4.
Well, if you’re considering to sell something directly, just ask for point 5.

Finally, there’re still some other requirements you might find doesn’t fit in any of these 5. In this case, you might need to contact a web development company (like us :P) to discuss further.

Well, that’s all about it. Have a nice weekend!
