Most businesses start out small. Business takes a very deep focus and concentration to make it grows big. Business is not supposed to be boring. It has to be enjoyable and entertaining. I understand that most of start-up owners have to spend some times to set it up and run it. But be careful of your own health. It is something that money can’t buy. These are some points I would like to share with others. Some things that I have in mind while running Beegamax Creative to be one of the coolest design house in town!

1. Make Balance Between Work and Play
My GadgetsI can’t emphasize enough the time of having fun outside works. Getting out of works at 6.00pm and have enough time to play around. I am a workaholic person who can work more than 24 hours a day, without getting my body in bed, who just realize that life is not just about working. Though sometimes I still works for that long, but I’ve tried to reduce it.

There are a couple of nice thing to enjoy after working hours. For me, I love gadget. All stuffs made out of this tiny little machine is always an apple of my eye, from digital camera to PS2 ( I’m not going to buy a PS3 first, it just doesn’t worth the price this time).

2. Talk to People who is Inspiring
It is always interesting to meet new guy, especially the one that can inspire me and broaden my mind. A person who can discuss about ideas to make things better. Flexible enough to shoot out what he’s been through without playing any hide and seek in his mind.

I have a couple of friends who are good to talk with and can suggest anything on running a business. That’s good for me. But I also have a few friends who is always too scared to bring out what he has in mind, too afraid to take risk, etc. They even too scared to let other people knows what kind of business they’re running. Funny eh? In fact, marketing’s very first focus is to let the whole world know what you’re doing! Otherwise, who knows you’re selling books if you don’t say it out loud?

3. Don’t be (too) Afraid to Take Risk
Taking risk is good! It is even good for your health. Giving your brain and heart a little exercise :). All my life, I’ve taken some risky things already and I still feel great for another one. Coming to Jakarta, with only Rp.1.000.000 in pocket is a big risk. Starting a new business with little cash in my bank account is another bigger risk. But still I can make it. And if I fail, I’ll get up again.

4. Get a Great Team and Awesome Projects
I’ve just noticed that getting a team is not easy. It cost me money, mind, time and energy to search and keep them. All new designers/developers as Beegamax Team are getting trained with technical stuffs within 3 months of their probation time. I want to get strong team players, designers and developers that can be loyal and struggle things together to the brighter future. This business will grow as long as we all play every single roll of our own scenario. In the mean time, we have had a very stable projects from Australia and Singapore beside local, and awaited is a new partner from UK. It is a colorful working experiences we have here. Our team will learn different environment while designing.

5. And Lastly, Do Blogging
Blogging is good for your health. It push your brain to think out something, and yet it helps market your business. I love blogging. I like to read other people’s blog, get a new friends, assist people when they need my help, talk to some business owners and get some constructive criticism about our mistakes and progress, and also, some of our prospects are coming after reading our blog. Click here for more information about blogging.

Building a new business is not easy, but there’s always a way to grow if we believe in it and keep moving. Don’t give up and everything will be just fine.
