We have just completed a new website for our client, SewaKomputer.com. It is a complete revamp of the old website. The company is about computer and hardware rental for events, seminars and other business purposes.

The Challenge
To create a professional, simple and clean look website because our client’s customers are basically professional companies who is doing events and seminars in town.

The Concepts
Our team started to doing research over the internet to find the appropriate ideas to line up the paper with crayon. Based on the brief and our research, we have came up with 2 variations of layout for our client to choose from. Following is the first variations.

1. The layout colours are taken from logo, which are purple and orange. We were trying to use the colours to strengthen the company brand itself. We hope that when visitors of the website see it, they will remember these colours as SewaKomputer’s corporate colours. The overall layout are simple. There will be a flash in the frontpage to make it more attractive, so it will looks more live.

2. The second variation is designed to give more space to website contents, there are area of promotions, rental products listing, and banner space for special offer. And it has white background, so it looks much cleaner compared to the first variation.

The Results
After these design mockups are completed, we sent them to client so they can choose. And the winner came to variation 2, the white one. Clients would love this better because it looks more of a business, while the first one has a little feel of ‘fun’, caused by the yellow colour.

However, our client still suggest something on the variation he has chosen. That is to increase the size of the logo to cover the whole width of top area, and move the main navigations to the bottom of it. We actually are not too fancy with the big logo on top header. It just looks too big compared to the layout itself, and the logo has dominated the whole impression of the site. We have tried to suggest our client regarding this, but it seem like our client do like it. Their reason is very simple, they want their logo to be known by the website visitor, so it is part of ‘branding’. They want visitors to noticed their logo at the first place, and their corporate identity will runs smoothly on the website as one of the marketing tools.

Based on this decision, we have modified the top part to something like this.

Anyway, our client is very happy and satisfied with the final result, and gave us a testimonial to our expertise in design battle field.
