In the first appearance, blog is actually a place to write personal life. It is an online diary called weblog. It is maintained in journal style and the posts are published in reversed orders.

Recently, blog has became more and more popular. You can try put ‘blog’ as keyword in Google and search. There are millions of blog out there on the web sphere.

Initially, blog has also grew to be a very effective online marketing tools, because of the system and features it offers. The fact is, blog is not just online diary for personal lives anymore. Many business owners has found it useful as a main website or a separated website to push more sales. For some people, maybe it is quite confusing why I said so. Well, let’s look more closely to it now.

Colour Combination Guide

kulerFinding colour combinations for your web projects are sometimes daunting. There are couple of tools on the internet that you can use to find the right complementary colour.

Just surf around and find this useful tool in Adobe website called Kuler. It allows users to quickly match and share colour themes over the internet.

Kuler also lets you choose several options such as Analogous, Monochromatic, Triad, Complementary, Compound, Shades and Custom. After you’ve found the perfect match, you can write down a title and save it to ‘My Kuler’.

10 Ways to Ruin Your Design

Creating good design is pretty brain-twisting, because it is not just about grab a canvas and draw. It is about idea, talent, skills, taste of beauty, and common sense. However, creating a bad design is very easy, but this guideline is meant to let designers know what to avoid.

1. Starting Out with a Blank Concept
This is the main thing to do if you’d like to have a bad layout. You don’t know what typeface or colour to be used, and above all you don’t know what the site will look like. make sure you do this if you’d like your design career to freefall.

2. Typeface from Another Planet
Try to use 3 years-old kid handwriting on a professional company artwork or serif fonts for kid oriented promotion artwork. Make it not clear enough to be read and show it to your clients, they’ll surely remember you forever.

Beegamax’s Interview by Babaflash.com

Actually, this interview is pretty old already, but I think it is still good to share. This is an interview of Beega.com (the very first form before it became Beegamax.com, while my daily meals completely depend on freelancing, Those are good old days to be remembered).

This website is about creating something like a game, with character moving around screen which controlled by arrow keys. And yes, it’s a fully flash site with lots of action script involved. I spent 2 weeks time to get it done. This website, has helped a lot on getting quite sums of freelance works which mostly coming from outside Indonesia.
